Speaker Profile: CMA Rakesh Singh
Past President - ICAI
Rakesh Singh is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and partner in M/s Shome & Banerjee, the first firm of cost accountants established in India. He is Presiding officer of the Board of Discipline as Nominated by the Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India besides being Co-Chairman of ASSOCHAM (UP Affairs), Independent Director with MRIL, ICMAI-RVO, Member of the Expert Advisory Board of the ICS1 and Advisor of the Emerging Businesses Chamber of Commerce. He is representing ASSOCHAM on regional advisory committee on labour and employment, Ministry of Labour & Employment.
He has been President of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (2012-13) and Chairman of Governance and Audit Committee(GAC) of the Confederation of Asia and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) 2014-2017.
He is immediate past Chairman, Valuation Standards Board of the lov-RVF and also was Chairman of the Cost Accounting Standards Board of the Institute for the period 2011-13. During his chairmanship, he played a premier role in completing and bringing out the “Generally Accepted Cost Accounting Principles” (GACAP), a first of its kind compilation by any CMA body in the world besides finalizing 6 Cost Accounting Standards and number of Guidance Notes. He has been nominee on Govemment Accounting Standards Board (GASAB), International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) ,South Asian Federation of Accountants, National Foundation for Corporate Govemance(NFCG) and Member of the India Netherland Joint Working Group on Corporate Governance and CSR.

Dr. H.P. Kumar is Director External Affairs at Power2SME and he is spearheading the organization’s objective of building alliance network in the industry. Dr. Kumar will design innovative programmes and framework to enhance Power2SME’s value proposition for SMEs, Suppliers and financial institutions. With rich experience in leading successful and profitable campaigns to benefit SMEs, Dr. Kumar comes with deep knowledge of SME market. Dr. Kumar has extensive experience in dealing with promotion, development and financing of MSMEs, exports and other small & large projects. Prior to joining Power2SME. He was the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation), a govt. of India enterprise engaged in development and financing of SMEs in India. Under his leadership, NSIC was able to achieve a turnover of 17400 crores and became a dividend paying entity with an excellent MOU rating continuously for 7 years, a spectacular shift, from a loss making CPSU prior to his successful tenure.

He has experience in Identifying Business Opportunities, Interaction with institutions / corporates at various levels. He has handled major assignments in Infrastructure Projects like Special Economic Zones, Convention & Exhibition Center, Effluent Treatment Plants, Roads and Real Estate Development. He has been advising clients on Financial Management Systems, Management Audits, Tax Compliances in Direct Taxes and Corporate Laws. He is currently the Founder and Director of Midas CFO, a firm specialising in providing strategic CFO services to SMEs. Prior to this, he was the CFO for eBikeGO. He has held senior roles in finance for various other companies as well.
