Dr. H.P. Kumar is Director External Affairs at Power2SME and he is spearheading the organization’s objective of building alliance network in the industry. Dr. Kumar will design innovative programmes and framework to enhance Power2SME’s value proposition for SMEs, Suppliers and financial institutions. With rich experience in leading successful and profitable campaigns to benefit SMEs, Dr. Kumar comes with deep knowledge of SME market. Dr. Kumar has extensive experience in dealing with promotion, development and financing of MSMEs, exports and other small & large projects. Prior to joining Power2SME.

He was the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation), a govt. of India enterprise engaged in development and financing of SMEs in India. Under his leadership, NSIC was able to achieve a turnover of 17400 crores and became a dividend paying entity with an excellent MOU rating continuously for 7 years, a spectacular shift, from a loss making CPSU prior to his successful tenure.

and Services tailored for the process industry. His journey began at Goodyear Tyres Limited
in 1983, igniting his entrepreneurial spirit. Despite initial challenges, his sheer determination
propelled Mascot Systems to industry prominence in sealing.

As a technocrat and mentor, Mr. Varadhan nurtures leaders while driving company
objectives. Renowned for revolutionizing sealing, process control, and safety, he holds three
patents for pioneering bearing isolators. His collaborations with DuPont underscore his
commitment to innovation. Looking ahead, Mr. Varadhan aims to foster ethical, profitable,

He holds a Ph.D. (Business Administration), PGDM (International Management), CAIIB, CIF, AMFI and Independent Director’s Databank Certification of IICA.

He is Founder of MSMEadvisor.com with its vision as” Be the trusted leading Advisory Services & Solutions Provider for the sustainable growth of MSMEs & Industries”. He is on the National Advisory Board of SME Chamber of India. He is member of MSME Forum of Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

As Business Head-SME at SBI’s Mumbai Circle, he spearheaded the largest portfolio amongst all Circles. As Industries Studies Vertical Head at SBI Corporate Centre, he headed the team for tracking 37 Industries in SBI’s credit portfolio and issuing advisories for the operational functionaries of Corporate Account Group, Mid-corporate Group handling ticket size Rs 500 Cr above and Rs 50 Cr above respectively, besides Retail Network branches. He was a member of the Credit Committee for Mid-Corporate Group, Pune.

He is Professor & Chairperson, Centre of Excellence in Banking at Jagdish School of Management, the 6th AACSB Accredited B-school in the country.
